The Barakabaho foundation was founded in December 1994 by Bishop Alexis Bilindabagabo to assist the Genocide orphans and widows. Soon after its establishment Barakabaho mobilized families to foster orphans and to provide them with a safe environment to heal and transform their lives. Initially, Barakabaho provided emergency relief to the survivors and in 1997 shifted its efforts to support sustainable economic development with the aim of empowering its members and encouraging self-reliance

Today Barakabaho Foundation is legally certified to
                                    operate in the Whole country as granted by the Rwanda Governance Board for
                                    compliance with the law No. 04/2012 of 17/02/2012 governing the organization and
                                    functioning of national non- governmental organizations.
The vision of the Barakabaho Foundation is to have a society where the
                        well-being of orphans and women victims of violence is ensured at different dimensions of human
                        life, including
physical, moral, intellectual, economic, spiritual and emotional level.

The mission of Barakabaho Foundation is to integrate vulnerable people,
                            especially women and orphaned children living alone and those hosted by families in Rwandan
                            society by providing to
them psychological, social, economic, spiritual and emotional
